Campus Network
The Portugal, Sustainable Campus Network (RCS-PT) is a cooperation network between people from national higher education institutions (HEIs) to implement the principles and practice of sustainable development in the environmental, social and economic aspects.
Who we are ?
Mission
Objectives
- Identify areas of cooperation and promote joint actions in favor of the sustainable development of HEIs both nationally and internationally
- Organize events to disseminate and share knowledge and experiences about sustainability in HEIs;
- Promote the creation of advanced training courses related to sustainability;
- Promote the integration of sustainability themes into courses at each HEI;
- Promote cooperation in research on sustainability;
- Promote the adoption of sustainability practices in the management of HEIs;
- Cooperate with society in general on initiatives within the scope of sustainable development.
Organization
The Network is managed by an Executive Committee (EC) made up of members from different HEIs chosen from the ECS, on a rotating basis, whose functions will be to promote and organize the annual ECS, as well as develop other joint activities and also gather and disseminate information and results on the activities taking place within the scope of the Sustainable Campus. Each EC performs functions for one year, with two of its members being replaced in the following ECS by elements from other HEIs, in a meeting of Network members to be held at the end of each Meeting.
The Portugal Sustainable Campus Network (RCS-PT) founded in 2018 by members of Higher Education Institutions aims to promote sustainability issues in Portuguese universities and polytechnics and, thus, contribute to a more sustainable society.
